How to add your domain

1

Open Domain Management

Click the button above or go to your Netlify site dashboard → Domain management.
2

Add a Custom Domain

Click "Add a domain" and enter the domain name you own (e.g. yourdomain.com).
3

Verify Ownership

Netlify will check if you own the domain. If it's already registered, you may need to verify via DNS.
4

Update Your DNS Records

Point your domain's DNS to Netlify by adding the records shown in the dashboard. Common options:

  • Netlify DNS — Transfer nameservers to Netlify for automatic SSL and easy management.
  • External DNS — Add a CNAME or A record at your registrar pointing to Netlify.
5

SSL Certificate (Automatic)

Once DNS propagates, Netlify automatically provisions a free HTTPS certificate via Let's Encrypt. This usually takes a few minutes.
DNS propagation tip: Changes to DNS records can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours to take effect globally. You can check propagation status at dnschecker.org.
